Manager Alternate Energy Research and Innovation Lab Centre for Energy Research and Development (CERAD) UET, Mr. Imran Ali Shah, Dr. Khurshid Aslam Bhatti Consultant at CERAD and Industrial Partner Rao Ahmad Khalid visited University of Agriculture Faisalabad to see the industrial development and achievements made in this sector. During this visit they also sought the help from the experts for the fabrication of Gasifier coupled with genset for production of cost-effective alternate energy extraction from safe disposal of municipal waste using nanotechnology, solar thermal and electrical energies.They also visited Industrial Workshop, Solar Park and Agriculture Departments, Sheesham forest, Vegetable fields, and livestock sheds.
2. Lahore Model School
CERAD team along with FSK Pvt Ltd’s Managing Director, Rao Khalid Ahmad paid a visit to a charity school Lahore Model School situated in Sant Nagar, Lahore. The purpose of this visit was energy auditing and solarization of the school that is owned by the former Governor of Punjab Mian Muhammad Azhar.After this preliminary visit, the team of the experts from CERAD UET was deputed consisting of research officers to complete energy audit and designing of solar system which can reduce the load on the grid. The team of CERAD will also educate the management to conserve and save the electricity by using it efficiently.
3. MADNI CABLES
CERAD team along with Alternate Energy Innovation & Research Lab Manager, Mr. Imran Ali Shah recently visited Madni Cables Shahdara, Lahore to examin the currently implemented process of cable testing and high voltage testing. Madni cables is one of the authorized cables manufacturers for the last twelve years and is providing standard distribution cables to WAPDA. The visit was arranged with a reference of Mr. Shams-Ul-Haq, who provides consultancy at CERAD and also an admired alumnus of UET.
4. Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research
A team from CERAD recently visited Electrical Measurements Laboratory in PCSIR Lab Complex Lahore. Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) was established under societies act to promote the cause of science and technology in the country. The delegation visited PCSIR with an objective of examining the testing equipment used to test cables and wires as per International Standards as AERIL is also focused on maintaining the basic tests for cables testing in its facility. A senior officer there took them to see the functioning of the lab. The delegation was provided a brief overview of different sections in lab i.e. fan, motor & cable testing.
