The gasification of coal and biomass has become very popular in the world due to the increasing cost of energy. The gasification technology offers a flexibility to gasify a large variety of raw materials e.g. Coal, Wood, Agri waste, Hospital waste, Urban waste. Gasification is controlled pyrolysis process to convert the solid carbonaceous material into combustible gases called syngas or producer gas. The characteristic features of gasification plants are effective fuel utilization, environmental friendliness, low cost and ease of use.The syngas is basically cleaned and densified before any commercial use. These gases may be used as fuel in a heat exchanger, Boiler, Textile machines or any other commercial application. The gas can be used to generate power through diesel/petrol engine in a hybrid mode.
