UET Lahore is continuing its effort towards adopting sustainable ways of generating energy to meet the demand of electricity. Under this objective, after successful commissioning of solar wall of CERAD (139 kWp) KSK campus, UET Lahore has taken initiative of solarizing its Administration department at main campus and installed 148 kWp solar wall. Alternate Energy Research & Inovation Lab (AERIL) CERAD has provided technical assistance to PD UET for successful commissioning of project. The solar system will provide an estimated energy yield of ~ 200,000 kWh. The system is operational since September, 2019. The solar Wall is installed on the south facet of the Administration department building, with varying angle installation. The installed system will be able to support the load of Administration department and reduce the burden on the Grid Utility. The Generation License for net metering connection under LESCO, is also being processed so that surplus energy units can be delivered to local grid, hence providing support to National Grid.
