The research team of CERAD UET Lahore has been working in tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (Tirah Valley) for coal mining. The war-torn area is often neglected for the exploration of resources. The mountains in these areas are blessed with resources such as coal and copper from which a lot of benefit can be attained.In team’s recent visits to these areas, coal samples from various sites have been collected and testing on them is in process.The purpose behind collecting the samples is to explore the indigenous coal resources in Pakistan which can fulfill our energy needs and reduce the dependence on imports.
